Hey guys 'n' gals
Today's blog post is a DIY tutorial on how to make a pin cushion. This is an idea I saw at Stitch of Love and completely fell in love with and literally had to start making that second!
The actual pattern for the crochet granny square part of the pin cushion can be found at Attic 24 and is a gorgeous flowery granny square pattern.
Start by crochet a 5 inch squared granny square following the pattern found at Attic 24 then set this aside for later.
Then take any scrap of fabric material and sew a mini cushion measuring approximately 2.5 inches squared. Dont forget to stuff it with polyfill or unwanted yarn / wool before sewing up the last side!
Once you have stuffed the cushion / pillow and sewn up the last edge, lay it diagonally across the crochet granny square you made earlier.
Sew the sides up together to make it fit round the pin cushion and hey presto, you are done!
I just love that you can make this using any colour scheme you wish to make it reflect what you love. Thank you so much to Stitch of Love for this inspiration in the first place.
Let me know what you think and if you give this a try be sure to let me know how it goes!
