Hey sparkles

Today's post is to tell you about my latest purchase: Studio l2e's Plan It and List It clear photopolymer planner stamp sets.  OH EM GEE I love these!!

They can be purchased from the Studio l2e's website and they ship worldwide!

I saw these being used on the world of Instagram and as soon as I saw them I just knew I had to have some eventually.  I bided my time but once I realised they were probably never going to be "in stock" due to their popularity I placed an order and waited 3 weeks for them to be ready for dispatch and a further 3 weeks delivery from USA.  That said, it was still totally worth it.

You will be seeing a lot more of these stamps in my upcoming blogs so be sure to keep an eye out!  I am also going to film a YouTube video review of the stamps and demonstrate me using them in my Filofax organiser.

Do you have Studio l2e stamps or other clear photopolymer stamps that you use in your Filofax or planner? Let me know what your favourite ones are in the comments below.

Here is week 25 in my gorgeous personal Filofax Finsbury in raspberry.

I am not going to go into too much detail about my pages this week, I think they are probably quite self explanatory.

As you can see I have busted out some of my new Studio L2E stamps (with some slight teething problems smudging the ink) and am loving them.  I will be posting a proper blog review about those on Wednesday so stay tuned!

Dymo Tape Embosser Label Maker - Filofax Divider Tabs

Hi guys

Do any of you remember Dymo embossing label makers?? Well, I had one when I was a kid and used to label everything! Tis true my love of stationery used to shine through even at the age of 6!

As some of you may know I recently treated myself to a Finsbury personal size Filofax and in an effort to save money, I decided rather than purchasing new dividers I would use some tabs that I got from a seller on Etsy and label them up into the sections I needed.

Last time I did this, I borrowed my husband’s label printer from his work but I don’t expect him to keep sneaking it home for me every time I want to make some more labels.  Then it dawned on me, “hey, what about the Dymo I used to have”.  With this thought in mind, and my mum spending a couple of hours searching my old bedroom at her house (love her), I was reunited with my old Dymo including tape still hanging out of it!!

Alas, I have used this to do exactly what I set out to do, label some tabs to act as dividers in my new Finsbury Filofax.  I love it as I think it really has a retro feel about it.

My sister recently purchased a Filofax A5 Apex to use as her planner at work (she is a teacher) and she is also going to label up her tabbed dividers that she made using this.  You can watch my YouTube video on how to make your own Filofax dividers by clicking here.

What type of label maker do you like to use?

Film Review: Maleficent

maleficent the movie sleeping beauty aurora angelina jolie disney film review

Hey my sparkles

As some of you may know, last night I went to the cinema to see Maleficent.  Now, I was a bit dubious about going but my mum had asked me to go and see it with her and I thought I should.

For me, both Snow White and The Huntsman and Oz, The Great and Powerful were failures in my opinion, so the thought of another dark remake of a fairy tale classic didn't particularly appeal to me.

However, I am thrilled to say I take it all back and really enjoyed this movie!  It is edgy, funny and beautiful and tells the story in a completely different light and one which I much preferred to the childhood classic!

Angelina Jolie was the perfect leading lady for the job and the scene with her and her real daughter Vivienne Jolie-Pitt was absolutely adorable.

All in all I would give this film a genuine thumbs up and say it was totally worth going to see.  I normally only see films that I REALLY want to see at the cinema, and wait for others to come out on DVD or Netflix.  I am very pleased that I saw this film at the cinema and in 3D at that, it really gives amazing depth to the movie.

Have you seen Maleficent or are you planning to go? Let me know what you thought in the comments below.

It is going to be a busy one, I just feel it!

Extreme Dog Styling: Love it or loathe it?

I LOVE DOGS.  That is no secret to anyone that knows anything about me! But just how far would I be willing to go with my dogs trips to the pet parlour?

I'm not sure if anyone else saw it but a little while ago on Channel 4 there was a programme called "Extreme Dog Styling".  It was about an annual competition that happens in the States where people do extreme dog styling on their pooches and the best styling wins.  If you didn't see it, Google it!

I must say, the art that goes into the designs is incredible, and they plan out hair cuts months in advance to grow out the right sections for their intended design.

Now, I am not saying that I would want to walk around with my pooch looking like a Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtle but I can certainly appreciate what these people are doing as a form of art.

The only thing that did concern me watching the programme is just how many hours the dogs have to spend standing on the spot, being cut, shaved, dyed, groomed, washed, hair dryed, washed, hair dryed again.  I am not an expert or a vet so I may be completely wrong but I wouldn't think it is good for their skin or fur to keep being washed and blow dryed for hours at a time.  I am sure these people are responsible and have cream for the dogs skin if this was the case.  I must admit thought, I do look at the pooches and think, what kind of life is this for them, it is very unnatural.

All this said, I would actually entertain having my pooches hair dyed for fun (not regularly) as I like to do things a bit different.  I look at the blue Westie and think it is funny and harmless so long as it is not dangerous for the dog.

Maybe something like this...

Why stop at dogs?!

I hope you can all take this post as what it was meant to be, just a harmless bit of fun.  I do not advocate that creative doggy styling is right or wrong, just thought I would share with you some of the photos I have come across and let you know what I think in a general way.

As always, thanks for reading guys and I shall catch you all soon!

NB: All the photos I have used were found on Google and they do not belong to me.

Blank Canvas Cosmetics - F30 Sculpt Brush (Nars Ita brush dupe)

blank canvas cosmetics f30 sculpt brush contour contouring makeup brush nars ita dupe

Hey guys

This is a very quick post just to tell the world that my F30 Sculpt Brush from Blank Canvas Cosmetics has arrived and that I am extremely excited about this!

I was sooooooooooo pleased when I saw this brush used by a favourite of mine on YouTube, The Makeup Chair (you can find her channel by clicking here) as I had spent a lot of time about 6 months ago researching dupes for the Nars Ita brush and the only one I managed to find by Everyday Minerals was constantly out of stock everywhere.  Then, like a vision in the night, this little beauty popped up on my screen and I just couldn't delay in purchasing it!

Also, Blank Canvas Cosmetics, thank you for the gorgeous purple envelope, love it!

I am a HUGE fan of contouring (self-taught) and spent a lot of time researching it last year as I did my own wedding makeup.  This brush would have made it 100 times easier and I wish I had it at the time.  Nevertheless, I own it now and cannot wait to have a play around and see the results.  This brush is the PERFECT brush for contouring, especially chiselling out the definition in your cheeks.

You can buy this brush from Blank Canvas Cosmetics by clicking here.
