Baable Hat number 3 with Black Sheep

I made another Baable Hat, this time for my brother. He is going skiing in January and this will be perfect for him. I think I'll save it to give it to him for Christmas.

I just couldn't resist adding the black sheep.

I really enjoying making these hats, it is a fantastic pattern and fairly quick once you get past the 2x2 ribbing.

How do you like my new hat?

Bionic Gear Bag - Rip Stitcher review

Today I've finished the second Bionic Gear Bag I have ever made. This one is going to be gifted to my mother in law next week for her birthday.

I originally saw these bags on instagram and was a fairly new sewer so at first put it off. Then I decided to challenge myself and purchased the pattern. 85 pages later and my brain was frazzled! On Craftsy it is ranked as a beginner pattern, but the way the pattern is written is not beginner friendly in my opinion.

I couldn't understand past the first few steps then luckily found a fantastic series of YouTube tutorials that saved the day. Other than the cutting out, I just followed the video rather than the pattern.

Anyway, that said, I've made two bags with a third on the machine and I think the finished product is fantastic.

What do you think?

Passport Travel Organiser - Blissful Patterns

blissful patterns etsy sewing passport travel organiser organizer walletWe were recently lucky enough to go on holiday and now that there are three of us, I thought it was about time I made us a travel organiser to hold all our bits in, especially for the airport for quick easy access.

I found a fantastic pattern on Etsy by Blissful Patterns and decided it had everything I needed. Passport pockets, pen holder, coin zip and room for cards and boarding passes etc.

I've got a thing for leopard print fabrics at the moment so I armed myself with some at my local shop and got to work. Im new to sewing and spent all night from about 9 pm through until 2am making it but I'm so pleased with how it came out.

It was an easy beginner pattern to follow and cut the fabric and I would recommend you check her etsy shop out for more fabulous sewing patterns.

What do you guys think?

Hexie Love Actually pattern by Pink Stitches

hexie love actually CAL crochet pink stitches green letter day hexagons blanket

I recently made a Hexie Love Actually crochet blanket for a swap with a lady on Instagram (she made me a Catch All Caddy pattern by Annie in return). I'll post a photo pf my gifted caddy in a different post - its amazeballs!

The Hexie Love Actually pattern is by Pink Stitches and can be found on Ravelry here.  It is a paid pattern.

You can follow the designer on Instagram @greenletterday by clicking here, her photos are fabulous and very inspirational.

I absolutely love the way the colours came together and I almost didnt want to send it, but I guess that is the sign of a good gift when you would love to keep it for yourself.

What do you guys think of my Hexie Love Actually crochet blanket?

Baable Hat by Donna Smith Shetland Wool Week

baable hat baa-ble donna smith shetland wool week knitting stranded colourwork knit

I'm being good recently and trying to work on one WIP at a time!

Last night I finished not one but two Baable hats! I originally made the grey and blue but it came out too big for me so I left it pom pom less. Then the other day my mum tried it on and said she would like it.

I already had the second one on my needles trying out the young adult variation (which I'm thrilled to say fits!) so I finished them both off together last night.

Such a cute free pattern on Ravelry and knits up quite quickly. Great piece to practice my first stranded colourwork in knitting.

What do you think of my Baable hats?

Cheeky Wipes Reusable Baby Wipes Kit Review

cheeky wipes baby reusable eco-friendly kit cloth

cheeky wipes cloth baby reusable eco-friendly kit

Hey guys

I wanted to share a purchase with you that I made over the weekend.  I went to The Baby Show and suffice to say I spent too much! Only meant to get some cot bumpers and didnt even get them...

One of the products we did invest in were Cheeky Wipes which can be found at www.cheekywipes.com

We spoke to the creator for a long time and learnt of why she had come up with this concept in the first place.  They are basically cloth cotton mini flannels that you use on baby and then wash in the washing machine with the rest of your washing.  You have a clean wipes box where you keep clean ones in water with chamomile and lavender oil, and then a mucky wipes box that contains teatree and lemon oil.  Within the mucky wipes box is a mesh laundry bag so you just take out the whole thing and put it straight in the washing machine.

For more information on the concept and products be sure to check out their website.  They are available in the UK and Australia.

We have been using them for four days now and shall not look back.  We will save a huge amount of money not buying disposable wipes and I feel great that I am doing my bit for the environment.  They actually make the nursery smell amazing too!

Let me know your thoughts in the comments below.

Hey guys

Just wanted to show off a blanket I have been working on for a friend of mine who is expecting a baby boy in April.  I decided my darling daughter has enough blankets for now so I should start making some for other people!

I used the Attic 24 ripple blanket pattern and a tutorial of how to do this can be found on my YouTube channel.

I love the colours and how this has turned out, what do you think?

Entrelac Tunisian Crochet Pink Baby Blanket

Entrelac Tunisian Crochet Baby Blanket Wool Yarn Knit Patchwork

Entrelac Tunisian Crochet Baby Blanket Wool Yarn Knit Patchwork

Hi guys

Today I just wanted to show you my latest finished project from start - finish. I have made my baby daughter an entrelac tunisian crochet blanket which is big enough for her cot bed once she moves into it or it will last her as a lap blanket for a long time.  Until now all the blankets I had made her were much smaller so I am hoping this one will last her a lot longer.

Have you tried Entrelac before? Let me know what you think of this blanket in the comments below :0)

Until next time!

Hey guys

Long time no blog!

Things have been super crazy for me since I last blogged, I have become a mumma! My daughter was born mid-November and quite rightly she has taken up all my time and focus.  The last couple of months of my 2015 Filofax pages remain blank.

So I decided it was time to get re-organised, new pages, new Filofax and get my life in order as I am getting more busy with baby classes, meal planning etc. I have moved back in to my Filofax A5 Original in Patent Purple which up until now I had only used for renovation planning.

I asked on UK Planner Addicts Facebook page if anyone could recommend some printed pages and a few people suggested Just So Stationery.  I was thrilled to see she had an A5 vertical week on two pages layout as that is just what I had been toying with so without further ado I ordered.

They came really quickly and it is safe to say thanks to these pages alone I have got my planning mojo back!  The quality of the paper is amazing, it is so soft and thick.  I am really enjoying planning again and look forward to showing some decorated pages off real soon.

What are you favourite Filofax pages to use?

Until next time!
